Entry 2907-Automations and Art

I love the mechanics of machines. Gears, levers, cams, pulleys, sprockets, rods, and all that “metally“ stuff just really makes me happy. What’s odd is that I really love SIMPLE machines, not complex ones like a car engine, nuclear reactor, or even a Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. Sometimes simple is best. So with that in mind, I have been designing a series of “Automata” by utilizing stained glass butterflies and a series of simple cam and crank systems. As you can see in my design the gears are very simple. I am going to figure away to spruce them up as well and make an open system for viewing. If this works like I suspect. I will then design what I have been dreaming off and that’s a mixed media stained glass/metal/polymer dragon automata. Of course I have paying projects in line as well that come first…but I suspect some one would purchase some flying butterflies as well in the near future, or maybe even a flock?

entry 2906-Modern Art Suncatcher

Here is a design I put together of modern art style sun catchers. I am going to start doing a series of modern art works.

Let me know what your think out there on this!

More from the lab. I like this, but think the guns are a bit over done. Also a T-Rex cost big bucks. May redesign for a rhino instead.

The ORC Ver. 1.0
I must say this idea was really fantastic. I shall use it as a base for several future projects.

Victor called again. What mamma's boy! All the man does is scream "RICHARDS!!!" all day long. He asked if I was coming to our union social and movie night this Friday that he is hosting. I really don't want to go, because it's always a pain to get there. Victor's teleporter is also a time machine and last time I used it, I got stuck with Teddy Roosevelt charging up some damn hill. Boy, that man is fat. Also, I'm still looking for an  assistant and I don't carry my own bags. But they are having punch and pie...

Still look for new lab assistant. I posted an ad on this "craigslist" thing to try to find a new one.It reads, "Evil(only on Tuesdays)Mad(well slightly ticked) Scientist looking for new lab assistant. Prefer young, smart male with good hair and nice teeth. Must be versed in the biological, chemical, or mystic science and be good in latin and pole dancing. The job has some hazards like: Large reptiles,Lightening, Possible Time/Space displacement, Hot Oil(not the fun kind), Fire (happens a lot), and pole dancing. If interested, please send your resume or CV to this email. "
So apparently, most people who respond to my ad think I am joking or into some sort of weird, bizarre kink. Why would I, the great Professor Paris be online looking for someone to do the horizontal mambo with? The only reason I asked for a younger guy is because it qualifies me for a tax break under the new Mad Science Tax Code listed in the 2009 Obamanomacon.
